Nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains with the Chattahoochee River flowing through the town, Alpine Helen is a re-creation of a small Bavarian town. In 1968, a group of businessmen met to discussion ways to revitalize the town. With an idea, the Bavarian themed town was born. In 2002, 1.2 million was spent on improvements to the downtown area. Today it is a destination to more than 2 million visitors per year.
